Marketing in 2010

Now is the time to plan for 2010!  If you don’t want a repeat of 2009, you better start putting some goals in place and a plan to reach those goals.  Marketing your dental practice or chiropractic office can be tedious, time-consuming, and can waste a lot of money.  Instead of trying to do it yourself, look to experts.  Just as it would be foolish for someone to try and extract their own tooth or give them self their own adjustment, so is it for a professional in your field to market their own practice.  You make your money seeing patients, that is what you do best and how you make money.

An effective 2010 plan should focus on retention, reactivation, referrals and new patients.    IN THAT ORDER.  You can accomplish all 4 of those tasks and significantly grow your practice if you are consistent and have good marketing.

How much? All depends on what your goals are.  Do you want to earn an additional $200,000?   You can expect to spend $1700 per month.  Typically your budget should be about 10% of your goal.  For instance, if you want to gross $900,000 next year then plan to spend $7500 per month in marketing.  Remember marketing is a wide range from events, sponsorships, referral programs, in office materials, and so much more.
What types of marketing are working?  Dental marketing and chiropractic marketing that are currently returning at least 10-to-1 ROI:  Social media marketing, Internet Video Marketing, Hand Delivered Postcards, Referral Booster, personal injury program, and reactivation program.
Our normal clients spend about $2,000-$4,000 per month and experience their existing patients staying loyal patients twice as long, increased monthly referrals of 10-20, reactivating 10% of past patients, and new patients of 20-30 per month.
